My 10 year high school reunion! It was SOOO much fun. This entire week in Provo has been great. But there is something amazing about seeing people you haven't seen in 10 years, with their spouses and kids. I almost felt like I was entering a foreign land, where I kind of knew the language, but it was coming back to me slowly. There were those that I immediately recognized, knew, have some post-high school contact with. Then there were others, who's faces looked extremely familiar (or even faintly familiar!), but you just couldn't recall that information! But the more you immersed yourself, the quicker names, faces and stories came back.
Me and Kristi, with one of her twin girls! I have known her since elementary school. We were in plays together, some gymnastic programs together, had sleep overs, the works! And she looks exactly the same!
Steve is one that I have kept in somewhat contact with since high school. We have known each other since he moved here...I think sophomore year. But we became great friends especially our senior year. He is a GREAT friend, and I loved seeing his beautiful wife and daughter!
One of the best surprises was our long lost buddies from college. I knew Rachelle my freshman year at Ricks, when we were single and CRAZY! And our friendship lasted through that crazy year, onto the sophomore year, when we both met, dated and eventually married our husbands (a month apart). After we got married, we moved in right next door! And there stayed, attached to their hips until we graduated! We haven't seen them since we visited 5 years ago! And when we saw them 5 years ago, there was just 5 of us (me, Ryan, Kelly, Rachelle, and Brenna). Now there are 9! Almsot double. Here are their cute kids!
They ate lunch, and let their kids stretch out and play in my parent's backyard. They were driving from a family reunion in Idaho, back home to California.
They haven't changed a bit! And it is the true test of friendship, when you haven't seen them for a while and you are able to jump right back in like it was 5 years earlier. Which of course we did. I MISS them! Hopefully we can visit them in Cali next spring/summer!
