Snow Days in Utah

 

 

 

 

 

 

In January, we flew out to Utah to spend time with my family before my parents went on their mission. The kids were VERY excited to see snow EVERYWHERE! The first morning we were there, we bundled them up, and played in the snow. Granted, they only lasted a good 15 minutes, but it was 3 degrees outside. THREE! They slowly acclimated, and everyday spent more and more time out there. It was a Winter Wonderland.

Friends of ours planned a 90's themed New Years Eve party. We played a 90's trivia game, played old school Nintendo, listened to 90's music. It was hilarious! Ryan and I went with the early 90's look.

Christmas Catch Up

 We had a LOT of fun with Buddy the Elf. He was much more mischievous this year! He even drew a pretty good mustache on Cannon.

 

I attended the most amazing concert put on by local Mormons, featuring a guest conductor of Craig Jessop. (Of Mormon Tabernacle Choir fame). It was so uplifting and spiritual.

 

 Of course there were Ginger Bread houses.

 

 And lots of presents!

 

 

 

 

Last Day at Magic Kingdom

 

 Last day at Magic Kingdom. We took the ferry ride in, instead of the train. And we loved it!

 Thankfully the girls indulged me on my cute hair idea. I had wanted to make Minnie Mouse buns, and they finally gave in. Turned out cute!

Meeting the Princesses was FANTASTIC! They were absolutely spot on perfection for the characters they played. Rapunzel was particularly hilarious. Cannon was smitten.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor

This show is an improve show, that involves the audience. And guess who was featured as Boo? She absolutely LOVED being on the big screen! 

 

 

This is the last picture taken BEFORE Cannon wandered off and was LOST FOR 20 MINUTES! 20 long minutes. We exited the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, browsed through the gift shop, and turned around and couldn't find him. We finally got the staff involved, then security personnel. I was pretty calm, I mean we are in Disneyworld, right?!  But, when one of the security ladies started asking me what he was wearing, size, age, wanting the most recent picture, that's when I got nervous. Thankfully, he had wandered outside of the Pirates of the Caribbean area, and had been spotted by a worker who guessed he was on the Jungle Ride, and took him there. So when "the search" was expanded, we found him. He was pretty upset (GOOD!), but we are all very relieved. Disney park workers were so helpful.

This was Brooklyn's favorite part of Magic Kingdom. Everything Little Mermaid. We had to revisit the Little Mermaid (Cannon didn't mind either). Brooklyn could have spent all day riding the ride and visiting Ariel. Thank goodness we could persuade her twice was enough.

 

 

Last ride was the Tea Cups.

 

 We let the kids pick out one souvenir on our trip. Cannon chose a real leather Sherriff Woody hat. He wore it through the airport on our way home and everything.

 

 

Brooklyn was hard to narrow down, but she got of course, an Ariel stuffed doll.

 

 

Brenna chose a Mickey Mouse necklace, then purchased a bracelet with her own money. She was SO excited!

I asked them to show a sad face on our tram ride back to our car. I don't think it was too hard to fake! They had the BEST time on our all time favorite trip. I'm SO glad we could finally make it to Disney. It was so worth it!

Day of Rest

 

We had been wearing ourselves out for the past week, and so we looked forward to taking it slow on Sunday. We attended a sacrament meeting in a building across from the Orlando, Florida Temple. Afterwards, we made our way to the temple grounds to enjoy the gorgeous weather and the beautiful building!

 

 What we weren't expecting was all of the lizards! They were everywhere! I couldn't believe it. The kids had fun chasing them around. Poor lizards.

 

 

 

 

After Church and our visit to the temple, we went back to our room and ALL took naps. At least 3+ hour long naps. It was so fantastic.

Hollywood Studios

 

 

 
One of my all time favorite pictures of Cannon. Ever! This was the first time he saw Lightening McQueen in real life. We saw the Lights, Motors, Action! stunt show. I'm glad Ryan encouraged me to get my camera ready for when McQueen would make his entrance. This is pure child euphoria!

 

 

 

Poor Brooklyn wasn't tall enough for a few rides. But thank goodness there is CONSTANT entertainment at Disney parks, so she never felt like she missed out!

 

 

The kids had just seen the Wreck it Ralph movie, and were so excited to play the actual Wreck it Ralph video game!

 

Another one of our favorite memories from Hollywood Studios was the light show. In the NYC downtown part of Hollywood Studios, the buildings are covered in timed lights, that produced an amazing light show to Christmas music.
