First Day of School Part 2

I love all of Cannon's arm poses. Sometimes it is showing his muscles, sometimes it is posing, sometimes it is me capturing the tazmanian devil in movement!

Now it is the afternoon, it is time for Cannon to go to school. He couldn't wait to get there.

We took a few pictures outside, then came into the entrance hall. This is where all the kids line up before going into their classrooms. When he sat down, his teacher Miss Nelson, sang him "Happy Birthday". He thought that was pretty cool.

Then they filed in to the classroom and took their back packs to their cubbies. Of course, a new photo opportunity!

Then the teacher did circle time. She first handed out their name tags. Another photo op...

Cannon is trying so hard to sit "criss cross". They had to show him how. I think his legs are built like his Daddy's, and they are so unflexible! Poor thing didn't sit like that very long, he stuck his legs out in front of him and leaned back.

Brooklyn sat in their "safe space" during circle and reading time. She kept bringing me the pillow and saying "nigh, night". She was soooo sad to leave Cannon there.

Not the most flattering picture! I was just so excited for Cannon to experience school and enjoy everything about it. It is bittersweet, maybe 80% sweet and 20% bitter... I can't wait to see how he grows and excels in school. Sitting here with the house so quiet, it is nice, but I do miss him!

First Day of School 2011-2012

Brenna was SO excited to go back to school. She will be in 2nd Grade at Russell Dougherty Elementary.
Here's the whole crew. Dressed and fed by 8am. It is a miracle!!!

We went back to school shopping with Brenna earlier this week, compliments to Grandma C. She had a certain amount she could spend. I told her she needed a new pair of pants, but other than that she could pick out what she wanted. She got 2 pairs of pants, a skirt and this fabulous dress. She tried on MANY dresses, and decided on this one. Then she went to the register and paid. It was a great learning experience!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANNON!!! Yes, today is his birthday. And this is his birthday suit... I mean, birthday outfit/back-to-school outfit!! He LOVED his new camo back pack and his shoes that matched. He wanted to put all of his new presents in his back pack to take to school. I told him he couldn't.

He will be in afternoon Pre-Kindergarten at Clyde Howell. (I'm still waiting to get in for morning, but I'm actually looking forward to dropping him off and putting Brooklyn down for a nap!) He was very disappointed that he couldn't go in the morning like Brenna. But we are going to lunch with Dad at his work before he goes to school.

My "school aged" kids! I can't believe I have 2 kids in school. It goes by way too fast. But they are SOOO excited for school. And I am too.

Brenna, outside her class, pointing to her surf board that she colored at Information Day earlier this week. She's got some good friends from last years class in her 2nd grade class. But, one of her closest, is in the other class! Thank goodness there are only 2 classes per grade (about 20 kids per class), so I'm sure she will see Ashley plenty.

Here's to a GREAT 2011-2012 school year!

Family Fun!

We had a great week with the Austin Bushmans. I am sad to admit, my camera came out ONCE during that entire visit! And I am glad I at least I got this picture. One night the girls slept over at our house. They stayed up way too late, which seemed typical for all of us that week! But they had a great time, and I'm so glad Brenna had some fun girl time with her cousins.

Happy Birthday Brooklyn!

Brooklyn's 2nd birthday snuck up on me. I can't believe my baby is two! I can't believe it is August. Time is going by so fast! I decided pretty last minute to have a quick birthday celebration for Brooklyn. Which included some cupcakes, and cousins, and a friend, and presents!

Here are all the underage kiddo's eating their cupcakes. Everyone did pretty good keeping the mess off their face...but not the floor!

My big girl sporting one of her presents, some fabulous sun glasses. I wonder if now she will stop playing with mine...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROOKLYN!

Brooklyn was born 2 years ago, today, August 1st. I can't believe she is already two! She has been a spunky, entertaining, sweet addition to our family. Her verbal skills have greatly improved, which makes her all the more demanding! She can now ask the common household question, "What do today?" Yesterday, she learned the word bandaid. It is amazing how fast they pick it up, once it clicks. She LOVES Yo Gabba Gabba, and dressing up. She loves swimming, jumping off of anything, pretending to read, and holding her dog, Cupcake. I love this little girl!
