First stop, Nauvoo
Before arriving at our hotel outside of Nauvoo, we stopped at Liberty Jail. It was a nice reprieve from the confines of the car! The kids did pretty good during the presentation. Even Cannon sat quietly and watched, with an appropriate pouty bottom lip. After they sat quietly, they made up for lost time while we were trying to go to the bathroom! Brandt and Cannon were running back and forth in the little waiting area, and Cannon ran into the back of Brandt's head, and got a slight black eye. Other than that, it was a great stop! (And it made Cannon look tough the rest of the trip.)

The next morning, we loaded up for Nauvoo.
We went to the temple first. It was gorgeous! The flowers were so bright. The temple was perfectly white. And the weather was absolutely perfect. It was around 80 degrees with a slightly cool breeze. We couldn't have asked for better!
Double Trouble taking a short break in their running and laughing for a picture. We didn't coordinate their outfits either!
Little Brooklyn desperately wanted to crawl around. And was so happy when we let her!
Cannon can't just strike a normal pose. It has to be a little odd, so here is a typical Cannon pose!
Gorgeous!
Brenna was thoroughly enjoying having older girls to play with. Ces is has been a great help with the younger kids! We love having her around.
We stopped by the blacksmith, the Smith Family cemetary, and the Nauvoo Visitors Center.

We then made the short drive to Carthage Jail. Again, I was so happy with how well the kids behaved in such a sacred place.

Little did these happy kids know, we had about another 8 hour drive after our sight seeing in Nauvoo. We drove to Appleton, Wisconsin after leaving Carthage. The kids were pretty good, and Cannon was so tired when we made it to our Wisconsin stop, Ryan carried him up to the room throwing a fit, and within 10 seconds of laying down in the bed, he was OUT! He slept till 7:30 the next morning.
The next morning, we loaded up for Nauvoo.
