You know who I'm talking about. No one specific, but they are your neighbors, friends, family, acquaintences at church. They are those who are diligently faithful, hard working, optimistic. They are the ones you have admired, their strength amazes you. And why does it seem that they suffer the most? The Stake President who is out of work, or the charitable woman who's husband dies suddenly, or the neighbor who will mow your lawn just because suffers from a life-threatening disease. It doesn't make sense to me. Sometimes it seems like those who give the most, have the most taken from them. Those who love the most, lose the most.
We have definitely had our trials. No one is immune. And when you overcome one, another one is soon to follow. When the financial trial that consumed you passes, a struggle with your children fills the void. Or once you survive an ailment, a ready-made struggle is soon to follow. This life is definitely a test, and I've watched many friends or family who seem to ace each test, only to have one more difficult slapped down in front of them. The more I hear of others trials, I am grateful for my own.
