After the newbies first three months, they have a 4 hour meeting with Chesapeake CEO, Aubrey McClendon. It is an opportunity for him to meet them, and ask them questions, and they are expected to ask him at least one question. Ryan went with a list, but one that topped it! After about 30 new hires asking Aubrey more serious business related questions, Ryan took the opportunity to challenge him to a raquetball game. The Fortune 100 CEO smiled, and graciously accepted the invitation. They played last night at 6:45pm. Leading up to the match, there was even a smack-talking e-mail exchange between Ryan, Aubrey and Aubrey's personal trainer. Needless to say, Ryan played them, got beat the first two rounds, but kept a close match for the third. It was gratifying to see a CEO enjoy meeting his employee's on a personal level, and having a husband smart enough to seek out an opportunity to get to know his boss! Out of the 40 or so new hires, I would guarantee Ryan would be the one he would remember. Even if it is because he beat a kid half his age at his own challenge!
I love you, Ryan!

You're funny! I guess it's best NOT to beat your new boss.
Did you lose because you're a fatty?
