Sleepy but no bed

As I mentioned earlier, we have had some issues with Cannon. He was born with acid reflux, and has had difficulty keeping things down. But recently (since he had croup in October) if he cries for more than 10 seconds, he starts coughing, and then throws up everything, everywhere. Needless to say, bedtimes have been rather difficult. We used to make sure he was clean and fed and stick him in bed, even if he cries for a few minutes. Lately, we can't leave him in bed to cry! So we'll attempt, vainly whispering "Nigh' Nigh'" in his ears. Lay him down, close the door, and wait. Within about 10 seconds, he'll start crying. Countdown 10 more seconds he'll start coughing, and if we don't rush in, in another 10 seconds he'll make his room reek of rotten milk and stomach acid. (Sorry for the description!) We will usually rescue him before the vomit, and bring him out to sit with us, sometimes till as late as 11:30pm, until he falls asleep. This is a picture of one such night. Update: His pediatrician is referring us to a pediatric GI to do some testing to see if there is an anatomical defect which doesn't keep his food in his stomach. Thankfully, besides bedtime, he is the happiest, active, little boy (who definitely has a 'healthy weight' - according to his doc.) Other than doing a load of laundry every day, there have not been other side effects. I'll keep you posted.
