I'm glad we can make a VERY, VERY, VERY long day in the car a little bit interesting, and fun for the whole family. I will try to update our blog with trip highlights!

Day 1
A couple hours into our LONG drive, just outside of Amarillo Texas, is a LARGE cross. Ryan claims it the the largest in the western hemisphere. Cannon was need a feed and a change, and we all needed to stretch our legs and take a bathroom break. So we stopped.
Yes, it was HUGE! Circling this cross was 14 stations, or statues depicting the crucifixion of Christ. It was interesting and a little gruesome. It was interesting that although we were observing statues of Christ, I could not feel the Spirit.
Here is the last one, depicting the Last Supper. And then behind it, stairs leading the the cross. Brenna wasn't too interested in the statues, just having the freedom to run around!
Another interesting note is that there were 14 stations about his death, and then we couldn't see anything about the Resurrected Christ. Then noticed a little sign pointing the the Shroud of Turin and the Empty Tomb. And that was it.
Here are my men standing in front of the replica of the shroud. Kind of itneresting.
We had planned a while back to visit my brother in Israel. Since we couldn't make that trip work, I'm glad I could still get a feel of Jerusalem in No-Where, Texas. Don't mind my sacrilegious husband!

I'm glad we can make a VERY, VERY, VERY long day in the car a little bit interesting, and fun for the whole family. I will try to update our blog with trip highlights!

how weird! Ryan is going to hell! ;)
I hope you guys are having a great time. We have driven by that cross at least 25 times to and from Arizona and have never stoped. I'm glad to know now there is no need.
Glad that you guys could find something to mix it up. That's really weird though! I can never understand why other religions like to dwell so much on the death and not the resurrection!
