Day 2: Animal Kingdom

Thursday, we headed to The Animal Kingdom park. It was a little bit cooler, but it was a beautiful day! When you first walk in, there is a huge tree called "The Tree of Life". It was interesting to find different animals carved into the trunk.

My all time favorite show at all of the Disney resorts was The Lion King. The music was amazing, the crowd interaction made it even more fun, the animals were outstanding, and the performers voices were out of this world. Hands down one of my top 5 experiences on this trip.

After the petting zoo section, we went on the African Safari!

Hippos

Aligators

There were lots of giraffes!

I couldn't believe it, Brooklyn fell asleep on the safari! Completely out! But, I got one of my favorite pictures of the whole trip.

Another part that I loved about the Animal Kingdom, was the live music. If you were in "Africa", you heard native music to Africa. Cannon LOVED banging on the drums. I loved the Indian Bollywood music and dance hour. I had to join in. (And no, I'm not posting that video!)

We made the mistake of thinking that we would not be completely soaked on the Jungle River Ride. And of our entire raft, Brooklyn and I were completely, 100 % soaked, all the way through. And Day 2 was the coldest day out of all of them! Brooklyn was NOT happy at all. I took all of her clothes off, and wrapped her up in my dry jacket, and then her teeth finally stopped chattering! This also made our exit of the park even quicker. We had a FANTASTIC day at the Animal Kingdom.

This was one of my top 10 favorite days of my life. I loved my times as a child in Disneyland, but there is something exceptionally fulfilling watching your kids experience a wonderland for their first time. The weather was perfect, the park was hardly crowded, the kids were beyond well-behaved, it was amazing. And all of us were worn out!

Airplane!!

A couple of hours after they opened the surprise, we were on a bus leaving our van at the extended parking, on our way to the airport. I don't think the kids knew what to expect! I don't know if we knew what to expect!!!

In true Bushman fashion, we arrived at our gate with about two hours to spare. So we sat. And waited. But it was nice to slow down before a very busy week!

Cannon kept asking, "Is JetBlue here yet?" I think he thought that was just our plane's name. We boarded, and the kids were extremely entertained and well behaved the whole flight.

After we landed, we herded our three tired kids, dragged 5 checked bags, 2 carry ons, 3 carseats to our car rental counter. Then crammed all of the above into a Ford Focus, which it miraculously fit! Then made our way to the Embassy Suites where we were staying. Just the beginning of a fantastic trip!

The BIG Surprise!

Tuesday, November 27 the kids knew we were leaving Austin. We had packed, and started loading the car. What they didn't know was where we were really going. They assumed we were going back home. We brought out three presents. They started opening them, Brenna not as excited, since she has matured out of Disney princesses and Mickey Mouse. Until she found a card (with our encouraging her to look) that read, "WE'RE GOING TO DISNEYWORLD!"

Now, she LOVES her Disney gifts!!

Cannon seemed the most excited when we told him we were going on an airplane! He's been as an infant, but obviously doesn't remember it. He wanted to open up all of the coloring books ASAP!

Brooklyn is along for the ride!
