Brenna is pretty on top of everything. She remembers birthdays, special events, assignments, books due, the list goes on and on. They are taking a field trip in the next few days/weeks that requires a $3 fee. That fee is due this Friday, 2 days away. Although I would not be making a late payment, you could bet money I would have made it till the very last day before I turned in the money. Just a few minutes ago, Brenna informed me that this morning she took $3 out of her piggy bank and took it to school to pay for the fee. I had NO idea! Mornings are kinda crazy, and so if I get her out the door, with her backpack, lunch, and assignments on time I am grateful. So I am not the most observant! The kicker is, I said, "You did?! Well, I will pay you back." And she responded nonchalantly, "Oh, thats ok. You don't have to!" Ummm, Brenna you are a little young to be paying for your own activities, especially school sponsored activities! I am a little embarrassed she beat me to the punch, but I am very proud that she took the initiative to pay the field trip fee. In first grade! I love her!

Must be a first child thing to do. Jake did the same thing for a teacher gift in first grade! Silly kids!!!
That's my girl. I am so proud of her. I think you should pay her back with about a 200% interest for her self-reliance and independence. Grandma C.
I love all the stories you post! I"m finally getting caught up on our blogs and all the friends and families blogs. You guys have been busy! I LOVE Cannon's bed! It was also great to see your parents at Christmas time.
