I can't believe Brenna is 6! So far six is much better, more well-behaved, than five! She is reading, writing notes and lists, figuring out simple math, and loves to create. She is super smart (confirmed by her Kindergarten teacher, she tested in the 98% for Kindergarten reading requirements and 34/35 in math!) and very generous. We LOVE her to pieces! Happy 6th birthday big girl!

Happy Birthday Brenna boo!
Our little beauty!
Brooklyn is growing amazingly fast! She is almost 4 months old. And I think she is one of
the prettiest baby girls ever (tied for first with Brenna). I've had several strangers comment on her adorableness (word?) one even saying she looks like a "Gerber baby". I have to agree! And she is so happy! We are alreaday getting her to laugh and smile and coo. I LOVE babies, especially mine!

A "What would you do moment"?
There was a show on ABC called "What would you do"? and I loved watching it! I always thought if I was put in one of their many situations, I wouldn't hesitate to act boldly! But I hadn't been in that kind of situation...until today. Let me set the scene: It was a perfectly beautiful day at the park. Brenna and Cannon were playing to their hearts content. There were two very out of control boys, around 5 years old, that were creating chaos with everyone around them. I started watching them closely as they crept closer to Cannon. They got inches from his face and screamed as loud as they could. It scared Cannon, and I jumped up. I forcefully asked them to leave him alone. And they did...but found some new prey. It was, of course, another younger boy, maybe 3 or 4 years old. They would chase him around, yelling at him, and it quickly progressed into shoving the shredded tire ground cover down his pants, calling him names, and slapping him repeatedly in the face. At that point, I walked over to the boys, told them to stop and that I was going to speak to their moms. I had been watching the parents leading up to this, and had determined that their "guardians" were the two perfectly manicured blond bimbo's sitting at a picnic table. I approached them.Me: (trying to remain polite) Are those your boys [fill in descriptions]?
Barbies: Yes... (looking confused why I would be speaking to them)
Me: I wanted to let you know that I have asked them to stop screaming in my two year old's face. And have had to stop them from shoving stuff down another little boys pants, and saw them slap his face repeatedly.....(pausing for some kind of response)...
Barbies: (blank stares)
Me:....And I don't feel comfortable being them one who has to keep intervening...and I wanted to make sure you were aware of what has been happening....so you could be the ones to stop them....
Barbies: (blank stares)
So I say thank you, and walk away. And as I walk away, I can hear them snickering! Seriously? I was questioning my actions until two moms came up and thanked me, and another dad wanted to make sure that his son wasn't apart of it. I felt great! From my "confrontation" on, I did not see the moms move from their seats. I did not see them say one admonition to the boys. They completely ignored what I had brought to their attention. But the best part of the entire day came later. When I was close to Cannon climbing on the playground, both of the boys came up to me separately and said "sorry". I thanked them for apologizing, and said that they should have fun, but what they were doing was wrong and upset the kids. And a few minutes after that, one of them came and showed me his Happy Meal toy! I am so glad I said something, and all the kids had a great time after that. But I was happy to think as I drove home, that if the "What would you do?" camera crew came out to surprise me, I wouldn't have to say "I wish I said something".

That can't be comfortable!
I could hear Cannon kicking against the wall, and fighting falling asleep, so I went in to discipline. And this is what I found!
That can't be comfortable! She has been such an amazing help around the house, and an enthusiastic one at that! She will feed the baby, fetch diapers, take the dog out for potty, pick up toys, play with Cannon, get her own breakfast cereal, and on and on and on! No wonder she is tuckered out! I am too!
