Cooking

It takes a lot of hard work keeping my house somewhat clean. It also takes a lot of hard work to make a nice meal. When I am trying to do both, it is near impossible. We have been having some great friends over with the missionaries for dinners and a lesson. I love having everyone over for good food and great conversation. But, my kids enjoy my distraction in cooking and cleaning to make a mess of their own.

I think this occassion I was making homemade pizza. I had given them each a small piece of dough to play with. I forgot I left the flour on the table and within reach.

Soon, about 7-8 cups of flour were all over the table, chairs, clothes, floor and faces. I should have known something strange was afoot when they were playing very quietly!

Although they had great fun, it added at least 20 minutes to my prep time. It all turned out well, of course, besides my frayed nerves! (And patience). When I showed Ryan the pictures before telling the story, he said "You are the best mom! I bet they had a great time." He thought it was a "planned activity". I shouldn't have told him otherwise!

Oh no! Flour is the worst to clean up!

I think it's hilarious that Ryan thought it was a planned activity!
